Boy at the window essay

For a poetry student, boy at the window essay is one of those essays that you will most likely be asked to write. This famous poem by Richard Wilbur was authored after the author’s reaction to an even that seemed rather ordinary.

In one of the evening when the father and his son were spending quality time, they made a snowman together and when the two were called to go partake dinner, the son also wanted their new friend, the snowman, to join them for dinner. This was a difficult wish to honor as the father explained the different reasons why the snowman could not join them for dinner.

While they were inside the house, the son did not seem to be convinced by his father’s explanations and he kept peeping at it from a window of the house. Wilbur looked this situation and decided to give some life to it by naming it the boy at the widow. Most mothers can relate to these stories given that they have been caught up in numerous situations in which their children seem to misunderstand the basic principles that are taken for granted by adults.

Wilbur uses humor, simple language and similes to generate a poem that will be loved by anyone who goes through it. In the first section of this poem, Wilbur explored the feelings of a young boy who sadly looks out of the window at his snowman that is all alone. The boy seems to fear for his snowman especially when he hears the strong winds of the night blowing around. The other half explores the story from the snowman’s perspective.

Academic letter of motivation

Motivation is one of the topics that the experts here have written about. Motivation appears to be a very popular topic for many assignments given to students and students are normally given a myriad of assignments types to write about motivation. Research papers, letters and essays are some of the assignment types that students are asked to explore the notion of motivation.

Below is an example of a section of an academic letter of motivation. What is motivation and how can teachers use to improve the performance of their students? Most teachers are trained to teach the cognitive system of the brain and when they stand before their classes, teachers provide access to the world of knowledge to their students. Motivation related to the drive to do something.

Motivation causes individuals to get up and engage in something useful for instance getting up every early in the morning to go to work or for the case of the student, sacrificing fun to concentrate on one’s studies. Motivation drives individuals to engage in new things and should they fail, it is motivation that gives them the encouragement to make a try one more time. Just in the same way adults sometimes do not feel like doing the things they know they should be doing, students also sometimes do not feel like doing what they are in school to do, to study hard.

There are those instances in a student’s life when students have to learn something that they have very little interest in. In such situations, what is it that makes them to engage in and complete a task that they did not wish to do in the first place? Or in situations when a task becomes difficult or when they experience roadblocks while performing the task, what is it that makes them seek all ways to complete the task? Motivation is of cause the answer! Motivation occurs at an individual level and one person can never be motivated for another individual.

Teachers too cannot be motivated for their students because motivation is something that the students are going to have to find for themselves. What teachers can do to help the students find motivation is to directly teach the students skills that will help the students to begin a task with a lot of energy and complete the same task while still having the same amount of high energy? The motivation to pay attention in class, to begin a task, and to complete the task are an innate part of the self system and meta-cognitive part of the brain, and they can be activated through tactics used by the classroom teacher.
