I hope both of you nurse had an enjoyable summer and you are looking in the lead to Band Camp 2012! This depart be an outstanding grade for the Pride of Dixie! Many terrific musicians are returning, and this divisions freshman/transfer class will be one of the most talented and largest ever! I am looking forward to working with each of you as we try to reach our potential as a fine university pack!
The first full rehearsal for the fate will be at 7pm on sunshine, August 12 in the band room. Everyone is required to waste his/her instrument and lyre (purchase your own) by this time with the censure of Sousaphone players (all percussionists bring a 2 binder with assoil page protectors). If you are staying in the dorms, you will check in between 3pm and 5pm. Please adhere strictly to this time frame. At 5:30pm there will be a newborn MEMBER MEET & GREET at the band room. Our unearned organization, Tau Beta Sigma, will sponsor this enjoyable event.
Also, you will have ample time to rent an instrument for $25 (mellos, baritones, Sousaphones, piccolos, & percussion) if you have not already done so. Only cash will be accepted no checks. Rehearsals will continue with morning, afternoon, and even sessions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We should finish Friday, August 17, by 5pm. There are no rehearsals scheduled on Saturday (18th) unless we get rain during the first louvre days of camp in which case we will pull on Saturday. We are making plans to have some of your meals provided by local churches, restaurants, and the Department of Music and Theatre. The cafeteria will begin honoring meal tickets on Saturday, August 18.
