Intro:One of the most spread misconception somewhat sleep is that sleep is just a matter of our bodies act off for couple of hours , and then turning back on when we are awake. Many of us also think that sleep is a passive, constant and unchanging process. Yet, what we dont realize that sleep is in fact a very active state. Our bodies move frequently during the night, but whats even more striking is that our brain activity is more varied than it is when we are awake. As we sleep our body goes through what is called a non- paradoxical sleep and Rem sleep. ( paradoxical sleep stands for the Rapid Eye Movement) Typically we begin our sleep bike with a period of non-REM sleep, what is than followed by a very brusk period of REM sleep.

Stage 1: -Transition mingled with wake and sleep

-A feeling of falling
-A feeling of non sleeping
Stage2: -period of ignite sleep
-body temperature and heart rate decreases
-body prepares for deep sleep

-feeling disoriented for several minutes, if woken up
-body restores itself
REM Sleep: -breathing fast/irregular
-eyes move rapidly
-muscles become immobile
-hear rate and declension pressure increases
-stage of sleep when we dream
