However, her beauty came in handy to make the coveted bride. In this respect, women are portrayed as individuals who use their beauty and femininity to get what they want in life. On the other hand, men are portrayed as using their statuses in the society to get what is best for them.
In this respect, the book works against the tenets advanced by feminists aimed at empowering the women fraternity. In this book, those women who were not very beautiful are seen working to enhance their beauty so as to entice men.
