Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a varied metabolic condition of carbohydrate intolerance that is first accept during pregnancy. As a woman progresses through her pregnancy, the sum up in the placental hormones, lactogen, estrogen, and progesterone, produces an insulin intolerance which may lead to serious health concerns for the mother and baby (Fink, 2006).
