When I first came to shorter college I was expecting to see many students almost campus but to my amazement there were only ab egress 20 kids. I assumed that several students just didnt ascend to orientation or that they lived in little rock. I short realized I was wrong this was the student body and I was the only non-basketball player at the school. This struck me as peculiar(a) because little rock is full-of-the-moon of people of the African American race who should want to further their education. To make matters worse I was told the school had lost its accreditation and that was a major reason of the pretermit of students. After my first semester I truly found out the reason there were no students at shorter college. The reason cosmos no one knew we were give way. magic spell marching through the Martin Luther faggot parade people kept saying you guys calm down open which through e for a loop. People in the northwards Little Rock community dont pull down know that Shorter College is even open. Does that make any sense? Shorter College hasnt always been like this it was once a very bad institution.
Shorter College was founded by the African Methodist papal Church (AME) in 1886. The reason being was for the free slaves to educate themselves. It was opened in November 15, 1886 in the basement of Bethel A.M.E.



Church and Broadway and was named Bethel University. The first group was a total of 109 students. In 1988 the school was moved to Arkadelphia and renamed Shorter University in esteem of the Bishop James Alexander Shorter, the starter of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Arkansas. On May 18, 1894 shorter was finally chartered. While in the distance buildings were being built for the new repair in North Little Rock, Arkansas in 1898 where shorter still stands today. The school offered vocational, theological, and liberal art programs which put it in the family unit of a 4 year college.
